Due to an unforeseen circumstance, Dr. Gates will not be able to attend the scholarship breakfast this year. We are honored to have Mrs. Rebecca Gates, Dr. Gates’s wife, speak in his absence.
Welcome, Dr. Robert M. Gates!
We are honored to have Dr. Robert M. Gates as our keynote speaker. Dr. Gates served under eight U.S. presidents in various leadership positions including serving as secretary of defense for President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. Dr. Gates also served as president of Texas A&M University, one of the nation’s largest universities. In February 2012, Dr. Gates was installed as chancellor of the College of William & Mary. He is the first William & Mary alumnus in the modern era to serve as chancellor.
