SVC Childcare Assistance Christopher Palacios

Christopher Palacios

Fall 2024

Christopher Palacios is a proud graduate of the SVC Class of 2024, who balanced life as a full-time student in SVC’s Diesel Technology program, a full-time employee, and a parent. Despite a daily routine of classes from 7 a.m. to noon and work from 1 p.m. until midnight, he stayed committed to his goal of being the first in his family to graduate from college and build a successful career.

Rising childcare costs nearly derailed his educational ambitions, but support from the SVC Foundation’s Student Emergency and Childcare Assistance Fund helped cover a significant portion of those expenses. This assistance allowed Christopher to focus on his studies and career path, ultimately transitioning into a senior engineering specialist role in the Climatic Chassis Dyno Group at PACCAR Technical Center. “The support I received was transformative, empowering me to excel academically,” he shared, noting that it helped him set a powerful example for his children that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
