Ways to Support SVC Foundation
Your generosity transforms lives.
Every way you choose to support the SVC Foundation provides desperately needed support for students who are building transformational futures and the future of our communities. Please reach out to us for more information about any of these types of gifts.
Cash Gifts
Donors may make direct contributions through checks, electronic transfers, or credit card payments. These funds are immediately available and can be put to work right away.
Donor-advised fund (DAF) Grants
Individuals recommend grants to the foundation through their DAFs held at community foundations or financial institutions. DAF gifts are simple, flexible, and increasingly common.
Stocks and securities
Donors transfer appreciated stock, bonds, or mutual funds. These gifts may offer significant tax advantages, including avoidance of capital gains tax and charitable deduction for the asset’s market value.
Distributions from retirement accounts
Individuals that meet certain age requirements may donate directly from their IRA through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). QCDs can satisfy all or part of a donor’s Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) which may reduce taxable income. This is a popular and tax-efficient way for retirees to give.
In-kind Gifts
Non-cash contributions that support the foundation’s mission may include equipment, supplies, professional services, or items such as boats, automobiles, tools, trucks, engines, and heavy machinery.
Sponsorships
Businesses or individuals may support events, programs, or publications in exchange for recognition. Sponsorships provide visibility for partners while advancing the foundation’s work.
Endowed Gifts
Donors contribute to or establish an endowed fund where the principal remains invested and earnings provide ongoing support. Endowments create long-term stability for programs and scholarships
Planned Gifts
Commitments made through estate plans that take effect in the future. Examples include:
- Bequests in wills or living trusts
- Beneficiary designations on retirement accounts or life insurance
- Charitable remainder or lead trusts
- Retained life estate
Planned gifts often build endowments and ensure long-term impact.
Real Estate
We accept gifts of land, residences, or commercial property. The foundation may sell the property or use it to support program needs.

Establish a scholarship reflecting your values–support a specific program, student demographic, or area of study. Name it after your family, business, or a loved one.
Renew annually at your discretion while we handle all the details.
What your gift provides:
- $1,000: Textbooks and supplies for one student
- $2,500: Full quarter tuition support

Endowed Scholarship
$25,000+
Create permanent impact. Your contribution is professionally invested and managed for long-term growth. Each year, approximately 4% of the fund balance supports students in perpetuity.
Your scholarship transforms lives for generations while the principal grows.
The Math:
A $25,000 endowment generates approximately $1,000 annually in perpetuity. Over 20 years, that’s $20,000 in scholarships while your original $25,000 continues growing.
Scholarships
Not ready to establish a named scholarship? Every gift matters. Contribute any amount to provide flexible support for students with financial need or exceptional merit who don’t qualify for restricted scholarships.
Emergency & Childcare Assistance Fund
When a car breaks down, a medical emergency strikes, childcare falls through, or unexpected expenses threaten to force a student to drop out, your gift bridges the gap. 87% of our students struggle to choose between paying bills and buying textbooks. Emergency and Child care assistance ensures that students can stay focused on their studies.
