“As a single mom, it is not easy to go back to school. The Jack & Micki Deierlein Scholarship is making a huge difference in my life. Not only do I feel a new energy, I have a sense of belonging now.”

—Karin Porrini, SVC Student

When you support SVC students, you help created tomorrow’s success stories. Thanks to donors like you, Karin Porrini is on her way! Consider making a year-end gift by December 31, 2018

Like many of our students, Karin’s path hasn’t always been easy. With a desire to make a difference in the world,  she started a fair trade business, but it was significantly impacted by the recession in 2009. Although a few years have passed, this experience is what prompted her to return to college and pursue her Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Conservation degree at SVC.

Returning to school later in life is daunting and many students can’t do it without the generous support from community members like you. Thanks, to the Jack & Micki Deierlein Scholarship, Karin can continue her dream of making a difference in the world.

Karin Porrini is grateful for the financial support she received: “Your scholarship is making a huge difference in my life. Thank you for your generosity!”
